From the original instructions for the 51st Junto project:

You will select a different audio element to represent each of the past 12 months of 2012. You will then select one five-second segment from each of these audio elements. Then you will stitch these dozen five-second segments together in chronological order to form one single one-minute track. There should be no overlap or gap between segments; they should simply proceed from one to the next.
These audio elements will most likely be of music that you have yourself composed and recorded, but they might also consist of phone messages, field recordings, or other source material. These items should be somehow personal in nature, suitable to the autobiographical intention of the project; they should preferably of your own making, and not drawn from third-party sources.

Special Uninvited Guest - disquiet0030-nonsilent by Phirnis

I took a very small snippet of what initially looked like absolute silence from one of the most popular singles released by the Wu-Tang Clan. Using rap's quintessential emphasis on vocal delivery as a starting point, I was determined to extract something voice-like out of even the most apparently silent moment I could find within this track. So in order to make audible what's lurking and moaning underneath that very short section of supposed nothingness, I used several simple effects of digital processing, such as extensive time stretch, distortion, pitch delay, reverb, parametric EQ, and, most importantly perhaps, multi-band compression.

'Email arrival' sound comes in as the very first one and is subsequently repeated several times throughout the entire track.
'New IM received' comes in at 0:07 sec.; very short and pungent in order to properly highlight the respective message's urgency.
'Incoming phone call' sound comes in at 0:09 sec. Now please, pick it up quick!
The soothing 'calendar event alert' comes in at 0:21 sec. and can be heard a second time towards the end of the track. This one's going to remind you of all the sweet little things you like to do in your spare time.
